How to Download Your Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle Statements as PDF

Step-by-step instructions for downloading your Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, and PayPal statements as PDFs for tax prep, loan applications, and bookkeeping.

Whether you're filing taxes, applying for a loan, or closing the books for a client, having documented records of your digital payment transactions is essential. Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, and PayPal have replaced cash and checks for millions of payments every day — but when it's time to produce a formal financial statement, most users aren't sure where to start or even whether an export is possible.

This guide covers how to download transaction records from each major fintech platform, what file format to expect, and how to convert those files into a structured spreadsheet once you have them.

Why You Might Need These Records

Three scenarios come up repeatedly for accountants, bookkeepers, and small business owners.

Tax preparation. Business income received through Venmo or PayPal is reportable. Having a complete transaction statement helps you reconcile totals and verify the 1099-K forms those platforms issue once you cross certain thresholds. Keeping your own records also gives you a way to catch discrepancies before tax season gets complicated.

Loan applications. Banks and online lenders typically request three to six months of transaction history to verify income and cash flow. If a meaningful portion of your revenue or expenses runs through fintech apps, those records need to be included alongside your traditional bank statements.

Bookkeeping. Accountants and bookkeepers need complete, gap-free records to close books accurately. Missing Venmo or Cash App transactions create reconciliation problems that can take hours to untangle.

How to Download a Venmo Statement as PDF

Venmo doesn't make this feature obvious, but your full transaction history is available for download.

Step 1. Open the Venmo app and tap the three-line menu icon in the top-left corner.

Step 2. Tap Settings, then scroll to Privacy.

Step 3. Under Download Your Data, tap Download. Venmo emails you a link to your transaction history within a few minutes.

Step 4. The file arrives as a CSV, not a PDF. To generate a PDF, open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets and export using File > Print > Save as PDF.

For a statement-style view, log in at venmo.com, navigate to your transaction history, and use your browser's built-in Print > Save as PDF function. Venmo transactions include payment notes and counterparty names, which can be useful for categorizing transactions when you hand records off to an accountant.

Venmo for Business accounts have additional reporting options in the business dashboard, including transaction summaries filtered by date range.

How to Download a Cash App Statement

Cash App provides a dedicated statements section that makes this more straightforward than most platforms.

Step 1. Open Cash App and tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.

Step 2. Tap Documents, then Account Statements.

Step 3. Select Monthly Statements, choose the month you need, and tap Download. Cash App generates a formatted PDF statement covering all transactions for that period, including transfers, payments received, and any Cash App Card activity.

To export a custom date range as a CSV:

Step 1. Log in at cash.app/account on a desktop browser.

Step 2. Go to Activity, click Export CSV, choose your date range, and download.

Monthly PDFs are well-suited for loan applications. CSV exports work better for importing into accounting software.

Zelle: Why There's No Standalone Statement

Zelle works differently from every other app on this list. It is not a standalone financial institution — it's a payment rail embedded in thousands of banks and credit unions, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and most major U.S. banks. When you send or receive money through Zelle, the transaction settles directly in your connected bank account.

There is no Zelle account, and therefore no Zelle statement. Your Zelle activity appears on your bank statement.

To retrieve your Zelle transaction history:

Step 1. Log into your bank's website or mobile app.

Step 2. Navigate to your checking account statement section.

Step 3. Download the PDF statement for the relevant period.

Zelle payments appear as deposits or withdrawals with "Zelle" in the transaction description, along with the name of the sender or recipient.

How to Download a PayPal Statement as PDF

PayPal offers the most complete export options of any platform in this guide.

Step 1. Log in at paypal.com and click Activity in the top navigation.

Step 2. Click Statements in the left sidebar.

Step 3. Select the month you need and click Download. PayPal generates a formal PDF statement showing all transactions, fees, refunds, and ending balances for that period.

For a custom date range, click Download in the Activity view, choose your start and end dates, select your preferred format (CSV, TSV, or PDF), and export. PayPal's statement exports are among the cleanest in the fintech industry, making them relatively easy to bring into QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting platforms.

Convert Your PDF to a Spreadsheet with LedgerLift

Once you have your PDF, the next challenge is extracting the data. Copying and pasting from a PDF is error-prone, and many fintech statement PDFs resist standard extraction tools entirely.

Upload any bank or fintech statement — Cash App PDF, Venmo CSV, PayPal export, or a standard bank statement showing your Zelle activity — and LedgerLift's AI converts it to a clean Excel or CSV file in seconds. No templates required, and no manual reformatting.

LedgerLift can push the converted data directly to QuickBooks Online, sync outputs to a Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive folder, or deliver results via API for custom workflows. Accountants and bookkeepers handling multiple clients can manage everything from a single dashboard with team and client management built in.
