IntegrationsConnect Slack
Send conversion notifications to a Slack channel
What you’ll get
Once connected, LedgerLift posts a message to your chosen Slack channel every time a conversion finishes or fails — including the file name, bank, row count, and a link straight to the results. You control which events notify you and can send a test message to confirm everything works.
Easiest
Option A — One-click connect
If you see a Connectbutton on the Slack card, this is all you need. (If there’s no Connect button, your workspace uses the manual setup in Option B below.)
- 1Open the Slack cardGo to Integrations and find Slack under Notifications.
- 2Click ConnectYou’ll be taken to Slack’s authorization screen. Sign in to your workspace if prompted.
- 3Choose a channelSlack asks which channel LedgerLift may post to — pick one (for example
#bookkeeping) and click Allow. - 4Send a testYou’ll return to LedgerLift with the card showing Connected. Click Send test to confirm a message lands in your channel.
Option B — Paste an incoming webhook
Works with any Slack workspace and needs no help from us. You create an Incoming Webhook in Slack and paste its URL into LedgerLift.
- 1Create a Slack appGo to api.slack.com/apps and click Create New App → From scratch. Give it a name like “LedgerLift” and pick your workspace.
- 2Turn on Incoming WebhooksIn the app settings sidebar, open Incoming Webhooks and toggle Activate Incoming Webhooks on.
- 3Add a webhook to your workspaceScroll down and click Add New Webhook to Workspace, choose the channel you want notifications in, and click Allow.
- 4Copy the webhook URLSlack shows a URL that starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/…. Copy it. - 5Paste it into LedgerLiftBack on the Integrations page, on the Slack card click “or paste an incoming webhook URL”, paste the URL, and click Save webhook. Then click Send test to verify.
Choosing what notifies you
Conversion completed — a message each time a file finishes converting, with the bank, row count, and balance-check result.
Conversion failed — a message when a file can’t be processed, with the reason and a link to retry.
Toggle either one on or off directly on the Slack card. Disconnect anytime — your webhook stops receiving messages immediately.
Working in a team?Slack is a shared, firm-wide connection — one channel receives notifications for every team member’s conversions. Whoever connects Slack sets it for the whole team.
Troubleshooting
The test message didn’t arrive
Double-check the webhook URL was pasted in full and starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/. If you deleted the webhook or the Slack app in Slack, generate a new one and paste it again. Make sure the channel still exists and the app hasn’t been removed from it.I want to change the channel
Create a new incoming webhook pointing at the channel you want (Option B, steps 3–4) and paste the new URL, or click Connect again and pick a different channel. The newest webhook replaces the old one.
Notifications stopped coming
Check that at least one event toggle is on, and that the Slack card still shows Connected. If someone on your team disconnected Slack, it stops for everyone — reconnect from the Integrations page.
